He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed (II Peter 2:24).
No matter what an individual's station is in the earthly life, we are all invited to consider the bond of unity through faith in Christ (Ephesians 4:1-4). In a shattered, disunified culture, the desire to seek unity is sorely needed. Thus, being mindful of the possibility of greater harmony among humankind through spiritual creation provides a solacing thought during such a time as this.
The oneness referenced here is through a single corpus, the Body of Christ. That is, this phenomenon is defined as the gathered believers in the birth, death, burial, and Resurrection of Christ committed to living a life worthy of this noble gift of grace. This connection through faith is apparent in an inward new creation with an outward manifestation. Consequently, a bonding occurs through trusting in the One we cannot see, but whose substance is evident through His Spirit Who lives in human consciousness--teaching, guiding, counseling, and directing.
How would the Spirit guide in the situations we are encountering in the earth today? It seems that we who are Christians are encouraged to fix our goals in accordance with the admonition: "Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace" (Ephesians 4:2-3). May the spirit of peace bring healing to the shattered spaces in the world today.
