He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed (I Peter 2:24).
During this time, major decisions are imminent for American citizens in the governmental arena. Christians are called to have hope regarding the outcome through a promising biblical reminder: ". . .God is the King of the earth . . . God reigns over the nations; God is seated on his holy throne (Psalm 47:6-8, ellipses the author's). This reminder can place one in a frame of mind with the probability of less anxiety. Reduced anxiety is a probability, rather than a certainty, because belief is a choice.
One can choose to trust that God reigns, even when the outcome is disappointing. Journeying with God requires faith in His Word. That is, one must believe God's Word is true, regardless of an outcome. God's Word assigns to everything a season; and within the chronicle of seasons, there is a time to get and a time to lose (Ecclesiastes 3:6a). For some, the current season will be a time of obtaining their will; and others will lose--experience disappointment. The good news, however, is God also promises to make EVERYTHING beautiful in its time (Ecclesiastes 3:11). Thus, those who experience disappointment will realize the joy of being satisfied with what God allows in due season.
There is healing hope in due season. To remain content in whatever state we find ourselves is divinely guided character building; and such character delivers healing hope which will not disappoint (Romans 5:4-5). Sacredly ordered hope opens the door for due season, producing a harvest from spiritual discipline, rather than from natural inclination. The harvest is also one reflecting God's Kingdom possibilities on earth at the appropriate time!! There is, therefore, reason to remain trustful in God's timing and in the truth of His Word.
