HEALING TREE HOPE 1.3

wise-hearted

He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed (I Peter 2:24).

When facing unfamiliar and unknown circumstances, what rises up in your being? What's buried deep within as a first response to unexpected occurrences? Is the concealed force fear?

Surprises occur in this life! Perhaps more often than most would desire, something appears on the horizon for which there is no plan. Some of these events are unsettling, but some are pleasing. When a shattering event occurs, however, mind regulating and emotion calming measures are required.

There is a prepaid assurance plan for needed regulation of the mind and necessary calming of emotions. Those who accepted the payment on the tree by Christ have healing from the disturbances of ill-regulated minds and shattered emotions. It is essential, however, to learn how to apply this restorative "assurance."

If an unexpected, unplanned, and unfamiliar incident occurs, it can trigger fear as a response. Fear is an unsettling menace that diminishes sober thinking. This, in turn, leads to unstable paths which can entrap. Entrapments require rescue and restoration. Turning a possible catastrophe into a controlled circumstance requires a deliverance source.

The Word of Truth declares that it is possible for God to answer a plea from the fearful and deliver (Psalm 34:4). He is the deliverance source. How does this deliverance happen? One method is through the application of restorative assurance. Restorative assurance is an expression which defines a promise to return to stability--be re-stored as a certainty. There is a way to experience this result.

  • Elevate the value of God as a resource--turn to prayer and frequently pursue the Lord in this sacred conversation. Ask direction from Him (Psalm 34:4)

  • In this pursuit in the sacred conversation, believe an answer is forthcoming. As Jesus told the centurion who had the faith He would heal his paralyzed servant: "As you have believed, let it be done for you" (Matthew 8:13b).

  • Another aspect of believing is trusting that God will hear the requests from us. It is true, for He will incline His ear when we call to Him (Psalm 116:2)

  • Still another aspect of believing is understanding God's attribute to save, preserve, and to snatch away from harm (Psalm 116:6).

Over the next month as unwanted circumstances disrupt the flow of your life, try to practice the previous thoughts. Perhaps they will bring calmness in the midst of unregulated thoughts and shattered emotions.
