Healing Tree Hope

He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed (I Peter 2:24)

Celebration of the Resurrection is approaching! Eternal hope of life is embodied in this sacred atonement for the sins of humanity and the broken fellowship with the Father of humankind. This commemoration, therefore, honors restoration and healing.

The restoration signifies renewed hope for redemptive fellowship with God. The restoration likewise represents reunion with the Creator of humankind and access to divine heritage. This heritage embodies a legacy which overcomes the corruption in the world caused by destructive desires. It also includes the privilege of seeing salvation from wickedness in the land of the living.

The healing power created through Jesus’ death and Resurrection is a miraculous occurrence, for human tendencies are granted sacred capabilities through this holy event. Where depravity may arise in the mind, goodness supplants it. Where erratic behavior buds in the human will, self-discipline upends it through the power of the Holy Spirit. Where an unkind heart seeks to control the human spirit, kindness takes root. Where unloving attitudes take seed, love uproots these weeds of hatred. “Therefore, brothers and sisters, be all the more eager to confirm your call and election, for if you do this, you will never stumble” ( 2 Peter 1:10, NRSVUE). By His stripes, those who are redeemed have been healed from tendencies which dishonor God and given the DNA which glorifies Him. Ponder these things this Resurrection celebration!
